what are tags?

Tags are one-word descriptors that you can assign to your runs to help you organize and remember them. Tags are a flexible way for you to organise your routes - you can assign as many tags to a route as you like so it's not like putting your route into a predefined category, rather you can assign it to as many or few tags as you want to build lists of similar routes.

Tags are great for organizing and finding runs, but they go even further when you consider that everyone tags their runs using the same list. This means that map runner will build a collaborative list of related runs, driven by the personal preference. For instance, to view everybody's runs which are easy, visit http://www.mapp-runner.com/tags/easy.

how do I tag?

When creating a run, there is a field for tags. In this field, enter as many tags as you like, each separated by a space. You may notice lists of tags underneath this form. These tags are what other people have used on the map runner site.
